What this machine is built to do

Tengda lists the wrapping machine at 6000 × 1000 × 1800 mm, film width 20–300 mm, glue unit 110 × 500 × 1750 mm, wrapping speed 20–50 m/min, total power 13.5 kW, average power 5 kW, a 20 kg glue drum with 280 mm internal diameter, and 2500 kg machine weight. Wider versions are made to order.

The machine body and conveyor are set up at the factory before dispatch. A twin rocker-arm adjustment on the glue scraper suits different film widths, and the scraper head runs at 130–150 °C so the PVC film passes quickly without heating enough to deform or stretch. A tracking and correction system keeps the film aligned, and an electronically controlled gear pump varies glue delivery with wrapping speed.

Which glue it uses

The page is titled hot-melt, while its features paragraph describes PUR hot-melt adhesive and bonds that hold from −40 °C to 120 °C. EVA hot-melt and PUR need different melters and cleaning routines, and Tengda sells a separate PUR wrapping machine. Ask Tengda which adhesive this machine is configured for, which glue suppliers it has been set up with, and what bond and heat-resistance results it can show on your substrate.

Reading the capacity figures

Film width of 20–300 mm is the film, not the profile. The film has to cover the visible faces and wrap around the back, so the profile's developed width plus overlap must fit inside the range.

The 20–50 m/min range is conveyor speed. Tight radii, deep grooves and veneer facings run slower than a flat skirting with PVC film. Ask for the expected speed on your most difficult profile and how many operators the line needs. Other wrapping machines list film width and speed the same way, so compare them on the same profile drawing rather than on headline speed.

Total power of 13.5 kW and average power of 5 kW give the connection size and typical consumption. Ask for the supply voltage and how the glue unit and heaters are controlled.

Roller sets and changeover

Pressing rollers form the film onto each face of the profile. Ask how many roller stations the machine has, which roller sets are included, what the rollers are made of, how sets are mounted and how long it takes to change from one profile to another.

A sample run on your profiles

Send several metres of each profile with your film or veneer, sanded and dusted the way production will prepare them. Ask Tengda to wrap them with your intended adhesive and record speed, scraper temperature and glue use. Check adhesion on every face, edge lifting, wrinkles at radii and squeeze-out, then test a piece after heat and cold exposure like your end use.

Your model-specific enquiry checklist

Provide profile drawings, substrate, film or veneer type and thickness, preferred adhesive, daily metres and climate of use. Ask for the adhesive configuration, roller stations, included sets, expected speed per profile and a sample run.

Buyer questions

Is this a PUR machine?

Ask Tengda which adhesive this model is configured for; the company sells a separate PUR machine.

Can it wrap MDF skirting with veneer?

Veneer is on Tengda's list of facings. It usually runs slower and needs suitable pressure rollers, so ask for a sample run. Flat panels with veneer faces are not wrapped at all; they are bonded in a hot press.

The page is dated 2020. Is the specification current?

Ask Tengda for a current specification sheet for the machine it will supply.

Confirm in writing before ordering

  • Adhesive the machine is configured for and recommended glue suppliers
  • Number of roller stations, sets supplied and profile change time
  • Expected speed on your profiles
  • Current specification sheet and supply voltage
  • Fume-extraction requirement
